HARDEST HIKE OF MY LIFE! Last day in Gilbert!
Hey guys! This is the last part of my Gilbert portion of the trip! This was one of my favorite days!
Day 7: On Monday morning we thought that it would be fun to try out another hike! We decided to go on a little drive to the Perlota Trail! This was a 5 mile steep roundtrip hike! I was totally up for it, but I also didn't know what to expect. The hike was hard and the heat was draining. We took very few stops for water and the trail was uphill and rocky. It took a few hours hiking the way up there and I felt like giving up. We saw so much cool wildlife and the view kept getting better and better. After so much labor and hard work I had to requirements for the top. Water, shade, and a view worth looking at. Finally, after so much pain we arrived at the top of the trail. And sure enough, the view was incredible. The rocks provided so much shade and relief for my achy bones. I hoped that the way down would be easier. It seemed to go by so much faster because it was downhill. After another 2.5 miles of hiking we made it to the bottom. I felt so much relief. The sky became dimmer and dimmer as we decided what to do for dinner. We decided to go eat at a place we used to love. Backyard Taco. I got a delicious Carne Asada burrito which I smothered in spicy salsas. The food was delicious. After dinner we went to WinCo for groceries and for some ice cream. We went home and indulged ourselves with yummy ice creams. I fell asleep sore but happy, sad but excited for our adventures beyond Arizona.
Yummy Tacos!
