Dad comes to AZ! Meeting up with friends!
Hey guys! Today I'm going to finish up my days in Gilbert! After this post we will will have some more exciting content on my trip home! Enjoy!
Day 4: I woke up Friday Morning excited! Today I was going to meet up with friends that I hadn't seen in over 5 years! Not only that but later that evening we would pick my dad up from the Mesa Airport! I couldn't have been more excited! We started the day off by revisiting several familiar parks that I used to go to as a kid. We had so much fun playing in the Arizona heat and beautiful green grass that it was hard to leave. After going to our first park we went to McDonalds and Firehouse Subs for lunch! My brothers got stuff from McDonalds and I got a yummy sub from Firehouse. After we bought our food we headed to this awesome Ninja Park where we would eat. As we sat down to unwrap our food, my brothers opened their McDonalds bag which was where they were expecting to find 20 chicken nuggets, they only found 10. As you know, they must have been devastated considering these were three hungry boys with bad attitudes. McDonalds ripped us off by 10 chicken nuggets. Even worse, the French fries were stale and unsalted. Eventually they got over it and we went to play at the awesome Ninja Park! There were so many hard parkour obstacles that we knew that when my dad arrived in Gilbert he would most definitely want to try them out. We stayed for about an hour, and then went to Target for some shopping. When we were done, we got in the car and went to another park where we would be met by our old friends! We waited for about half an hour, and eventually we saw one of our buddies pull up on his bike. It was so weird to see all of the friends I used to hang out with every day grown up. We got to see three families of our closest friends, the Kelches, The Burnnets, and the Robertsons. Everyone got along so well and it was like we had never left. There were tons of kids! There was Landon, Addison, Lexi, Noel, Eric, Joshua, Hadley, Caleb, Ryan, Lyndi, Jack, Riley, Me, Garrett, Hazen, and Britton. We ate snow cones, played grounders, and had a brutal fight of capture the flag, girls against boys. Addison and I enjoyed sneaking Cadbury eggs out of my moms purse. It was the most awesome nights I have ever had. I am so grateful I had the opportunity to see them again! After a long evening of fun, we decided to hit the hay. It was painful to say goodbye, and I hoped that it wouldn't be another five years before I saw them again. We finally went to the rental house and ate a nice dinner of chicken and salad. Then we cozied up on the couch and watched a movie. At around 10:00pm my mom got in the car and took my little brothers with her so we could get my dad from the airport. At around 11:00pm they arrived home. I was so happy to see my dad! We all got ready for bed ready for an exciting day on Saturday!
Great job
