Costa Rica, Day 1 (On our way to San Jose)

Where do I even start? 😂 This trip was pure magic.  Day 1: Thursday, Oct. 21st It was 2am in the morning when I was abruptly awaken from a deep sleep. I remember finding myself in a bed at my grandparents house in Utah. How could I have forgotten? My adventures were just beginning. I got myself ready for the long day ahead of me and checked to make sure all of my bags were packed. Mom, Dad, Britton, Garrett, Hazen, Grandma Sandy, Grandpa Lynn, and myself were all ready to go. The bags were packed and the arrangements made. The cold, dark, and dry environment of Utah were going to be left behind, and the warm, humid, lush and tropical Costa Rica was about to enfold me. We hopped into our tiny minivan with barely enough room for our tons of luggage and 8 travelers. Off we went to the Salt Lake City airport. I remember pulling into the dark parking lot with hundreds of cars parked everywhere. Once we found an open spot we parked there and then got on a shuttle that took us to the air...

Filling in the Blanks

I have not written on this blog in forever. Life has been so busy that I completely forgot about writing. I have so many things that I need to catch up on but the main reason I decided to get back on here was to document my trip to Costa Rica. Once I finish up all of those posts I want to fill in all of the blanks. Everything that I missed. Buckle your seatbelts! :)

My thoughts before school

I just can't believe how fast summer has gone by. It feels like just yesterday that I was counting down the days until school was out, anxiously awaited summer activities such as Roaring Springs, family reunions, girls camp, and unlimited video games. Okay maybe not unlimited. It's crazy to think that now I'm counting down the days until 7th grade. 7th. I still feel like a little 5 year old girl excited and nervous to go to kindergarten. To make friends, learn how to read, sing songs, do math, and become a student. One thing I remember was always wanting to find a way to be creative and add little dashes of color to everything I did. We had to wear uniforms at the charter schools that I attended and I remember wearing a big, bulky, homemade rainbow necklace. Picking out my rainbow shoes covered in stars with with a cute little pink bow on top. Pretending I was a long lost princess from a far away kingdom. Singing my favorite Disney songs to my classmates. Wearing my barbi...

Dad's 40th Birthday! :D The end of summer

Happy Birthday Dad! These past few weeks have been full of fun festivities as we have celebrated my dad's 40th birthday. We had an epic surprise party for him, bringing almost all of his family up discreetly . He already knew that 2 of his sisters were coming and so we hung out with them for the first day and then on Friday the 13th we sent him to Costco with Cari. The party was soon to begin. Lori, her kids, my mom, me, and my brothers started setting up the party. Then at about 3:30 guests started to arrive. My grandma and grandpa Wheeler, my great-grandma  Janice  my uncle Jeff, and my cousin Grayson all traveled from Utah to celebrate the occasion. Once they all arrived we started to divide and conquer as we finished decorating and preparing for the party. We decided to put my grandma Janice on the front couch with a Davy-Crocket Coonskin hat and a massive green party hat on top of her head, and had her pose with a stone expression while the rest of us hid behind a wall. One of my happiest times! (Ashton, Idaho, Savage Family Reunion 2021)

Wow. Can I just say that I just LOVE my family! This past week has been one of the happiest times in my life. I got to go to Ashton Idaho with my Savage Cousins and it was incredible! I love them so much! We left last Sunday to head to Utah so that we could drop off my dog at my aunts house. I didn't mind the drive considering we have to drive 5 hours to see family in general. We spent the night at my sweet grandparents house in preparation to head to the reunion. We arrived in Ashton around 4pm on Monday when we got our first impressions of the AMAZING house that we got to stay in as an Airbnb. It had 3 stories, 9 bedrooms, TONS of bathrooms, a massive kitchen, 2 BIG dining tables, a movie theatre, lots of deck space and balconies, a hot tub, game room with a pool table, bocce ball, and  ping pong, a kitchen in the basement, tons of property including my favorite...a private lake with kayaks and paddle boards! That evening we had tacos, and we played on the lake. We stayed u...
